About Annette Badland
Annette Badland is an English actor with a career spanning more than five decades on stage and screen. She began with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1970s and earned an Olivier Award nomination for The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (1992), later appearing in the film version, Little Voice (1998). On television she is remembered as Margaret Blaine, the disguised Slitheen, in Doctor Who (2005), as the scheming Babe Smith in EastEnders (2014-2017), as Ursula Crowe in Wizards vs Aliens and as pathologist Dr Fleur Perkins in Midsomer Murders. She found a worldwide audience as Mae, landlady of the Crown & Anchor pub, in Ted Lasso. Other credits include Cutting It, Outlander, Big Boys and Heartstopper. In Beyond Paradise she played Isla Jay.
