Data minimisation
The site does not operate a newsletter. Visitors can submit feedback through the feedback form or use their own email service. The form asks only for the information needed to understand and, when requested, reply to the message.
Feedback form provider
The feedback form posts to FormSubmit, a third-party service, so submitted fields and technical connection data pass through that service. Review the FormSubmit privacy notice before using it. Coastal Clues does not promise a retention period on FormSubmit’s behalf; visitors can email the webmaster directly instead.
Reader contributions
The webmaster uses submitted contact details only to review, verify and respond. Email addresses and private correspondence are never published. Rejected or unused submissions are deleted within 90 days; correspondence needed to resolve a correction or rights request is retained for up to 12 months. Published wording and its recorded permission may be retained while the contribution remains public, and is reviewed or removed on request.
UK framework
Personal data is handled with regard to the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. The webmaster address is the contact route for access, correction, deletion or objection requests.
Analytics and affiliate measurement
No external analytics, advertising pixel, affiliate-event queue, cookie or local preference storage is active. Following an affiliate link takes the visitor to a third-party provider whose own privacy terms then apply.
Your rights
UK residents may have rights over their personal data and may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact the webmaster to request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of permission to publish a contribution.
